Biography

Tom Littwin is a bassist, composer, arranger, and teacher of music. He has worked with such notable artists as saxophonist Richie Cole, trumpeter Michael Ray (Kool and the Gang, Sun Ra Arkestra), and trombonist Clifford Adams (Kool and the Gang). He has also performed with bands such as the Cosmic Krewe, La Funkalicious, Earth Wonder Fire, and the Tom Trovas Group. Along with performing as a sideman, Littwin has led his own group since 2014.

Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, Littwin has been playing the bass since the age of nine years old. He has had the opportunity to study with many great teachers including Anthony Wellington, Gerald Veasley, and Orlando le Fleming. At the age of 12 Littwin was given the chance to study at Victor Wooten’s Bass Nature Camp. Littwin Later went on to receive a B.A. in Music from The College of New Jersey.

Currently, Littwin performs regularly with his band and a variety of other bands in and around New York City and Philadelphia. He is also a part of The Pennington School’s music faculty, where he teaches private bass lessons, Jazz Band sectionals, and leads the Rock Ensemble.
